Marvel fans around the world were thrilled when the studio unveiled its 2023 movie lineup. The lineup includes some of the most highly anticipated films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including the long-awaited Black Panther sequel, the third installment of the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, and the first solo outing for Captain Marvel.
The Black Panther sequel, titled Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, will be directed by Ryan Coogler and will feature the return of Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa, the king of Wakanda. Marvel’s 2023 movie lineup is finally here! On March 28th, Marvel Studios revealed the titles of their upcoming projects for release in 2023 – Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Hawkeye, Thor: Love and Thunder, Black Panther 2, and Captain Marvel 2.
These five highly-anticipated productions are sure to be worth the wait. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is a sequel to the 2016 sci-fi superhero movie about Doctor Strange, a sorcerer master. Directed by horror veteran Scott Derrickson, this is Marvel’s first foray into the horror genre.
Next up is Hawkeye; after achieving box office success with series such as Black Panther and Captain Marvel, Marvel is now exploring the world of archery with the upcoming Hawkeye. The film is said to focus on Hawkeye’s personal journey and the legacy of his defensive archery.
Thor: Love and Thunder continues the story of the God of Thunder, as he is re-imagined with a female lead. Natalie Portman stars in the lead role with two-time Academy Award winning director Taika Waititi at the helm of the production.
The Black Panther sequel is the most anticipated of the bunch. Set to be directed by industry veteran Ryan Coogler, and hopefully featuring the late Chadwick Boseman, Black Panther II will continue the story of T’Challa to new lengths.
Lastly, there is the hotly anticipated Captain Marvel 2. With the original movie being a huge success at the box office, the bar for the second installment is set incredibly high. We can only imagine what surprises and action-packed sequences directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck have in store for us when the movie is released.
