After they were killed, Danny was taken in by The Order of the Crane Mother; an order of Buddhist monks in the city of K’un-Lun located between the Himalayan mountains. Having trained in martial arts under the tutelage of the monks, Danny went on to perfect the ancient martial art known as kung-fu.
